The Huron snowshoe model is the most well-known snowshoe shape and originates from the Huron nation of Canada. This snowshoe is primarily used for hunting, trapping, and long hikes in cleared forests and fields. It was also the preferred choice of the first French settlers who came to settle in New France around 1604, as well as for coureurs des bois (French fur traders) and trappers for their winter travels.
