The Slow Death® Aberdeen Hook features a special kinked shank that, when paired with half a nightcrawler or earthworm and trolled slowly, creates a wild, twisting action that reaches areas typically missed by blade presentations. This Aberdeen-style hook offers a versatile technique, producing an enticing corkscrew motion that lets you fish in cracks, crevices, and corners that faster methods might skip. To rig it, attach a bottom-bouncer weight to your main line, then tie a 48” (122 cm) mono or fluorocarbon leader to the bottom-bouncer. Thread half of a nightcrawler up the hook shank and over the eye, leaving about 1/2" (1.5 cm) hanging off. Troll at speeds between 1 mph and barely moving, just fast enough for the crawler to spin. This technique works well for targeting Walleye, Bass, Crappie, Zander, Perch, and Panfish.
