The Bear Paw snowshoe model is the second most well-known snowshoe shape. It originates from the indigenous nations of Eastern Canada and the Canadian North, particularly from the Innu (Montagnais) nation. It is primarily used for hunting, trapping, and hiking in dense forests. Its wide and short shape allows for efficient and silent movement in forested areas, as well as providing excellent flotation properties in deep snow. This model is also available in an elongated version for increased versatility in open terrain (Modified Bear Paw).
